To try it is to love it!

A classic knife "Made in France" The N°07 was invented by Joseph Opinel around 130 years ago and is a symbol of the brand. It is ideal for camping and picnics and will also serve you well in everyday life.

The stainless blade measures 8 cm and provides excellent cutting and high resistance to corrosion. The lacquered beechwood handle ensures a secure and comfortable grip. The safety ring allows the blade to be locked in the open or closed position.

Hardness 55-57 HRC. Origin from Europe.
The stainless steel of Opinel blades is of particular quality and offers both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.
The blade has excellent sharpness and high abrasion resistance (wear resistance), which allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials such as ceramics before needing to be resharpened. Stainless steel has the advantage that, unlike carbon steel, it does not require special maintenance under normal conditions of use. Nevertheless, it can reach its limits if it comes into contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergent, etc.) for a long time.

    Yatagan Blade

The traditional Opinel blade is called Yatagan. The shape is inspired by a Turkish saber with a raised tip. The blade has been ground to an exclusive, curved profile and guarantees robustness and easy resharpening.

    Handle

Beech is the most commonly used wood for making Opinel knife handles. The beech wood comes from France, is hard, resistant and easy to work with. It has a homogeneous appearance and the light color varies from yellowish to pinkish. The wood can be recognized by its many dark, small streaks. The handle has been varnished to better protect it from moisture and dirt.

    Safety Ring (Virobloc)

The Virobloc safety ring was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. It is present on all folding knives from model N°06 upwards. The Virobloc is cut from stainless steel and consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safe use), it is now also possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safe transport).
